In the second quarter of 2021, the top communication apps in Greece saw varying trends in downloads, revenue, and user engagement. This review, based on Sensor Tower data, highlights the performance of Messenger, Rakuten Viber Messenger, WhatsApp Messenger, Snapchat, and Discord - Talk, Play, Hang Out.

Messenger from Meta Platforms, Inc. experienced a notable increase in weekly revenue, reaching $466 by the end of June. Weekly downloads showed fluctuations, starting at around 16.3K at the end of March, peaking at 20.6K in late April, and settling at approximately 16.3K by the end of the quarter. Active users remained stable, hovering around 3.2M throughout the quarter.

Rakuten Viber Messenger maintained a steady weekly revenue, averaging around $1.3K to $1.5K. Downloads began at 12.2K in late March, saw a peak of 13.6K in mid-April, and ended at 11.7K by the end of June. Active users showed a gradual decline from nearly 5M to 4.4M over the quarter.
